Body-for-Life Makes Portion Control and Weight Loss Simple
For the longest time, I tried to follow the food guide pyramid but it drove me crazy because there was so darned much food I was supposed to eat. Needless to say, it made weight loss and even weight maintenance difficult.
My saving grace was finding the Body-for-Life program and learning about realistic portion control. The Body-for-Life program makes portion control so easy that anyone with a hand can do it.
Meat portions should never be larger than the size of the palm of your hand. Not your palm and fingers, just your palm.
Carbohydrate portions, both starchy carbohydrates and vegetables should never be larger than the size of your closed fist.
If every meal contains one portion each of protein, starchy carbohydrate and vegetables, you’ll be taking in just enough to keep your body running efficiently.
